Fall Aeration and Over-Seeding
If your lawn is in rough shape after the crazy summer we've had then aeration and over-seeding can get it looking lush and green again. This technique is usually performed in early fall. It helps grow new, healthy grass while revitalizing the old. Can aeration and over-seeding benefit your lawn, read on!
Roots Need Air
By pulling small plugs from your lawn it loosens the soil, reduces compaction and allows the roots to breathe. The holes increase the ability to absorb more nutrients and water, in return growing a thicker and stronger lawn.
After we aerate the lawn we fertilize and over-seed by spreading more grass seed over the plug holes we just made. The seed fills in the damaged areas brought on by diseases, insects or drought, while strengthening the existing lawn and helping fight future turf issues.
Did you know that a whopping 50% of irrigation water is wasted due to runoff, overwatering, wind drift, evaporation and faulty system performance? Your irrigation system should be optimized seasonally to prevent all of the above.
There are several things we review when optimizing a system, read all about it below!
Do you know exactly how much water your property needs?
We will calculate how much water your property needs to stay healthy and look great. Not only will it save water but reduce your water bill too.
Is your irrigation equipment distributing water uniformly?
We will inspect, test and/or replace irrigation nozzles.
Is your property sloped?
Sprinklers on sloped landscapes commonly have runoff onto sidewalks and roads. We will adjust sprinkler timing to allow water to absorb properly.
Does your system leak or have a water pressure issue?
Another water waster. Not only does it increase your utility bill, water pressure issues can affect the overall performance and efficiency of your entire sprinkler system. We will carefully inspect your system and evaluate.
