Fall Aeration and Over-Seeding
If your lawn is in rough shape after the crazy summer we've had then aeration and over-seeding can get it looking lush and green again. This technique is usually performed in early fall. It helps grow new, healthy grass while revitalizing the old. Can aeration and over-seeding benefit your lawn, read on! Roots Need Air By pulling small plugs from your lawn it loosens the soil, reduces compaction and allows the roots to breathe. The holes increase the ability to absorb more nutrients and water, in return growing a thicker and stronger lawn. Over-seeding After we aerate the lawn we fertilize and over-seed by spreading more grass seed over the plug holes we just made. The seed fills in the damaged areas brought on by diseases, insects or drought, while strengthening the existing lawn and helping fight future turf issues.
